It may have been if your sweaty ears weren't brought up. 🤣

Thanks for the post! What is the motivation for the audio interface? Is it to make switching between computers easier?

Motiviation is that the microphone doesn't work without it :) It needs an amp.

Makes sense. From your experience, is it worth the jump from a USB interface? I have the Shure MV7 mentioned in the list you shared, and I’m trying to understand what I may gain (no pun intended) switching to an XLR one. My use case it’s similar to yours: Loom videos, Zoom meetings, and not much more. Sound quality is great with the plus of not needing the sound interface and being able to connect it to the monitor as well. Thanks!

I don't know! I think if I could have the same microphone with an USB cable, maybe I wouldn't use the audio interface? One thing to mention is that very rarely I play guitar but if I do I can plug it into that audio interface.

Thanks for writing this up! I love these kinds of posts, because my office space always ends up a little better in some way. I really appreciate the diagram at the end, I'm going to start making one like that whenever I rearrange my office.

Do you usually work with your laptop open, or do you just use the single monitor?

Do you make use of any mic booster like the cloudlifter? I’ve been having trouble getting my mic loud enough. Similar setup.

No, nothing. Gain sits at 3 o'clock and seems to be enough.

Hi ! Great setup. For the mouse, I would suggest a Logitech MX Master, the hand pain should go away.
